Dawn
I shoved my bag in my locker and grabbed all the books I needed for my third class. "Hey Loser Girl, I like your hair cut," someone yelled at me. Ugh, it was Brooklyn Days- the world's biggest loser and oddly enough, the girl that every guy wants. well it's actually not that odd. She wears shorts shorter than her undies and flashy tops with her face caked with makeup. She's a slut and a fake- with her friends. Her boyfriend, Scott Johnson and his gang were glaring at me. "hey loser girl," sneered Brooklyn.
I didn't reply, I never do.
"what cat got your tongue?" Scott shoved me against a locker while Brooklyn continued, "answer me, you bitch!" He slapped me while brooklyn scratched me with her sharp, plastic nails. I just stared at them, pretending I didn't understand a thing they said.
They took that as an excuse to hurl more insults at me. "you poor, idiotic thing! I feel bad for your parents, I bet your mom wanted to push you back up when you came down. Oh right, you don't have any parents! I bet they committed suicide because of you. Such a shame it is to have a daughter as ugly and stupid as you. Go kill yourself!"
With that he flung the books I had held onto the floor, grabbed my glasses and stepped on them, and kicked me in the stomach for hopefully the last time this period- and shoved me down onto the floor.
Aww crap, why did this have to happen to me, oh yeah it's because of my ugliness, because of my stupidness.
I bent over to pick up my nerd glasses. They weren't broken up too bad, it was just the frame, I could easily fix them.
I groaned as I attempted to get up. I saw a hand reach out for me and I grabbed it and gasped. Before me was the most amazing boy ever. Tall, startling green eyes and shaggy black hair. He must be new because I know all of the kids in this tiny town. It was as if he wanted to say something, but he ran away.

By the beginning of third period, I had earned the title "emo boy". Alright, I'll admit it, I do look slightly emo. I have black "emo" hair that hangs in my eyes and gauged ears, but thats it. I was making my way to my locker when I heard a nasally voice squawk, " hey loser girl". The voice belonged to a sluty looking blond who was hardly wearing anything. Before her stood the world's most beautiful girl. She had gorgeous, shoulder length brown hair and lovely green eyes. She was tall for a girl and wore a basic sweatshirt, skinny jeans, and converse. One look at her pretty, tear-stained face and I could see she was in pain.
"Cat got your tongue?" That came from the jock behind the slut. The beautiful girl just stared straight ahead. The jock shoved the girl against a locker. Dude, you don't shove girls! I raced down the hall and got closer to them.
Then it clicked. The girl was evidently bullied the idiots thought she had a disability. They thought she didn't understand. One look, it took me one look in her eyes to see that yes, indeed she did understand.
I realized she was the smart girl from my first class. She didn't talk and everyone including the teachers picked on her. From the students it was insults, from the teacher was snarky comments about how she didn't "sit up straight enough" or how other pathetic things. When the teacher asked her a question she would answer it correctly but the teacher - I learned her name was Ms. Clay- would give her a detention and accuse her of copying someone.
I saw the slut, jock and the rest of the bastards had left her sprawled out on the floor, clutching her stomach while her books lay scattered on the floor and her glasses broken. I raced over and held out my hand for her to grab. She took it and when our skin touched, I felt a tingling sensation go up my arm. I pulled her up and she looked up at me. I had thought her beautiful from a distance, but I was wrong. She was more than beautiful, more beautiful than anything I'd ever seen in my life. I wanted to stay make sure she was okay, but the current of oncoming students swept me away.
